This was my second attempt at modelling in 3ds max from scratch. I used a tutorial, which helped me a lot and taught me at the same time as well. It took about 5 hours to create this with lighting, texturing and all. I like how max produces nice and easy renders.

I followed an awesome tutorial- [link] to make this keyblade model.

The keyblade is a weapon from the Kingdom Hearts games and this particular one is the 'Kingdom Key'. I might model some more later on.

-Done on 27th September 2007 using 3ds max 8.

For second attempt at modeling, you did damn well. I can look at your keyblade and with no difficulty identify it at a glance. :)

Kingdom Key is great for those who are learning because it's a relatively simple model(especially when compared to Sora's/Roxas' later weapons). Speaking as one who's made his own model, I must say good job.

Thanks. I would love to model Oblivion and maybe Fenrir, but i would have to learn more and get use to using max before i attempt it.
Yep, always best to wait til you're sufficiently familiar with a program and many of its features before attempting complex stuff, as it'll turn out better results more quickly and efficiently(as my TIE Fighter Redux Project shows).

Thanks.
Well you can get the trial versions of some 3d software, either Maya or 3ds Max is best. Then you can follow the tutorial to make the keyblade. There's plenty other tutorials on the net for 3d stuff.
